Number Lookup Service

Number Lookup services call upon a central database (on the operator's side) containing details of each mobile phone subscriber authorized to access the GSM network.

Recent years have seen number lookup queries making an appearance in campaigns and programs based on mobile phone numbers.

These queries allow companies to check the validity and state of mobile numbers in their databases, giving them the opportunity to optimize various processes and decrease costs.

How does Number Lookup work?

Each phone number contains information that makes it unique from the rest of the world's phone numbers.

Firstly, there is the IMSI (International Mobile Subscriber Identity).

This is a fifteen-digit number that includes information such as the MCC (Mobile country code), the MNC (Mobile network code) and the MSIN (Mobile Subscription Identification number).

In IMSIs, the first three digits represent the mobile network and the second two digits identify the country code of the number. In IMSIs, the first three digits represent the mobile network and the second two digits identify the country code of the number.

In the last ten digits are the MSIN, a 10-digit unique number that any carrier uses to identify a mobile phone.

Secondly, it is not uncommon for a subscriber of one mobile network operator to move to another operator but keep their old number. Number Lookup allows you to check the status of MNP (mobile number portability).
Furthermore, Number Lookup can help you determine whether a phone number is roaming. This can be crucial for safeguarding your clients and preventing fraudulent activities.
